She's certainly shit enough. But not famous enough to be name dropped in a song. You're more likely to find Latoyah before her. [:D]

LOL My first thought when I heard that song over the loudspeakers at a Hess station was "Why the hell is Train waxing nostalgic over Mr.Mister? Who has fond memories of Mr. Mister? Who would even have the balls to commit that thought to tape?"

..and then of course my rational side took over and I realized that "mister" rhymes with "sister" and they were just lazy. [8D]

based on some comments here one might think that Mr Mister raped and murdered families of NWO members.... when in reality all they did is release 2 or 3 memorable yet overplayed pop songs... kinda like Train did..

who has fond memories of Mr Mister.... hmm maybe those who put their songs at number 1?

just fyi Train bought this song from a Norwegian production/writing team who write many other pop songs for artists today... but noone here cares probably anyway... [:D]

Nah, I think you're overplaying your hand here. My reaction was a slight chuckle not anger (as you're mischaracterizing it). I have no preconceived notions about Train or Mr. Mister. I don't subscribe to the "this is cool/this is not cool" arguments going on here because I'm well past the age of 14.

That being said, my reaction would've been the same if the song was called "Hey Soul Fox" and they threw in a line about listening to Samantha Fox on the radio, unarguably a more successful act than Mr. Mister.

If that's true, then we may need another topic ... shit songs by shit bands in which the shit band mentions their shit selves.

I'm pretty sure it's that song.. it's one of them anyhoo... "rox-ette!" can be heard at the end of one of the chorus's stated by the guitar fellow. Maybe it's another of their songs.

Hmm actually hang on.. if it was.. it would have to be "shes got the look" or "it must have been love".. and it wans't either of them.. so I must be right.

Just listen to Bowling for Soup's / SR-71's "1985." I'm pretty sure that one has all the "shit '80s band" bases covered.
