News Flash: [b]API is now reporting that Roxette has just hit #1 on the Iraq music charts! Strangely, it wasn't their new music that became popular but the song, "You Got The Look", which has just now finally made it's way to the region. The single beat out hairy men belching and camel flatulence to take the top spot.

Roxette's manager, Bjorn Svelsonn said, "I'm proud of them for finally breaking though. And at this rate, in another 25 years we may even have enough material for a greatest hits album. Now if we could just crack the Top 40 in Luxembourg and Micronesia!"

Roxette will open the Middle Eastern stint of their "Insurgency" tour in June at Fred's Kabob Shack in downtown Kabul. Opening for the band will be local musical legends Men Without Legs with a special guest appearance by the IEDs.

From there, the band will travel to the US in the fall to perform for a grand opening of the newest Bob's Discount Furniture outlet.[/b]

you must be talking about some other 80's pop/new wave act...Roxette is still hitting the charts with new material in developed Western Europe...but considering how catchy their tunes are I bet they have fans in many other parts of the world...

speaking about other 80's new wave/pop artists, I bet most 80's artists would give an arm and a leg to be in the pop charts again with brand new material.....
unfortunately artists like Flock of Seagulls, Howard Jones, Motels, Loverboy and Tiffany are relegated to rehashing their one big hit on cheesy reality shows like Hit Me Baby One More Time, without anything new, in fact I think as a second song most sang covers of other artists, talk about creativity slump....[;)]

[b]Newflash- After a year topping the charts in Tazmania, Somalia and Kurdistan, Roxette has announced they will be teaming up with Tears For Fears and the reunited Thompson Twins for 2012's blockbuster, "I Want To Smack Myself For Going" Tour.

Scheduled opening acts are "Wasted Money", "Mass Regret" and "No Accounting For Taste". Word has it that talks are underway for special guest appearances by David Hasslehoff, Toya and Silly Vanilli (Milli Vanilli cover band).

On their upcoming performances at venues like Elks Lodges, YMCAs and strip malls across the USA, Roxette manager Douche McBag said, "This gives the average fan a chance to get closer to the artist in a more intimate setting, oops I think my pager just went off". [/b]
