I'll just add my usual two cents to these type of discussions.

None of it matters. The lame stuff. The cool stuff. It's all irrelevant in the long run so don't waste your time getting worked up over it.

...but in Huey Lewis's defense, the guy amazes me. He looked 40 back in 1983 and he looks 40 today. WTF? A pact with the devil? A Dorian Gray portrait rotting away in the attic?

Damn. Sho' is a lot of acrimony in here. My take on it is this: It's a musical discussion forum. People get their knickers in a twist all the time when someone slags off their favorite musical acts. I occasionally do as well. Then I call them a "douchebag" or a "cunt" and feel a little better.

Lighten up, everyone. Sticks and stones.....It's the friggin' interwebnetz, FFS.

You are always gong to run across people you clash with, just like real life - go figure! And, you can take the "high road" and ignore it; or, you can just tell them to "STFU" and not get so worked up about it. Really, is everyone that thin-skinned? I'm not saying I haven't ever gotten angry and lashed out at someone on here when they have been a dickhole to me, but if you make decent posts and don't persistently and creepily keep posting the same psychotic, obsessive threads day after day (year after year), you aren't likely to be called out as a lunatic and incur the wrath of others. Seriously, I can leave this board for months at a time and return and there is Toyah, still waxing on all creepily about.....Toyah. Sorry, but it's just far too tempting not to reply. Yeah, if I were a more mature person, I wouldn't. But, I have faults. BooHoo.

Don't take shit too personally. Don't get all worked up (or, try not to) over a post on a damn messageboard. Some of you said you were so bothered or annoyed or offended that you left . . . and look at Toyah. She rolls with it. She keeps maniacally typing away despite the leather hand restraints, the 30cc's of Seroquel and against her therapist's orders, God love 'er. She gives back as good as she gets, which is my point.

Lighten up, ya cunts.
Really? That's the best you could do?

Reminds me of Bagdad Bob during the Iraq war...er, ass kicking. Hopelessly outgunned and outnumbered by superior weaponry and firepower, surrounded on all sides, yet valiantly vowing to remain defeated.

That kind of delusional thinking is rare and quite a magnet for macabre voyeurism. And to some, any attention is good attention.

Georgie's threads got a lot of views as well...did wonders for his reputation around here.

Honestly, I had never even heard of Toyah before all the spewage about her(?) here. Had a look and listen...eh, certainly nothing to drone on about.

Hey, it worked for Billy Mays, maybe you'll have luck as well.

I think the problem is that some people have thicker skin than others.
You're obviously going to be a target for pelters if you are into music that was scoffed at by music reviewers over the years...this place is just an extension of that.

We have a saying in Britain that I'm sure many of you will have heard..."taking the piss". I have had the piss taken out of me for decades by my mates in pubs for my musical tastes. Try being a Phil Collins fan, the jokes are endless. I don't get upset about it..I laugh it off and do my best to give it back...usually by sticking three quid in the jukebox and playing any collins/genesis I can find [:D]

Toyahs problem is that he doesn't seem to have the capacity to creatively rebut the jibes of his tormentors.

Having said all that, I will finish by saying SU-SU-SUDIO!!! JUST SAY THE WORD OHHHHHHH"

Bring it on "cunts". [:D]

why would anyone expend creative energy on middle age sea slugs?
The music press, by the way, no longer means anything, the internet generation pays no mind, do you think Lady GaGa would have hit the heights in the era of music press twats?
Elvis Costello, boring pretentious hack that he is, is an example of the music press proping up losers like themselves..
it may have worked back then;
especially in America, none of that nonsense means anything now.and Justin Bieber is on the cover of Rolling stone...so there you go..

Thats your prerogative. But your going to be perceived a certain way by simply calling them "sea slugs".

Re-read the line I posted in question. I said:
"You're obviously going to be a target for pelters if you are into music that WAS scoffed at by music reviewers over the years"

Hence I'm talking about the past tense. You're missing my point though. I shall explain. Most of the people who propagate this forum were around at the time when music mags, radio and TV were the only way one could hear about music. Thus, its possible that SOME people on this forum just might have a preconceived idea about a certain musician.

Whether lady gaga would have become famous is another story and quite irrelevant to my post.
