If Rolling Stone likes it then that means the elderly will purchase it.

What remains to be seen is whether the morons at Pitchfork give it a good review.

I'd be shocked if he read Rolling Stone. I just assumed that Rolling Stone is read by guys in their mid-60's who sport a grey ponytail and hang out at Starbucks trying desperately to mingle with 20 year olds by name dropping Adele right before they head home to fling their carcasses on their beds and weep tears of shame while they listen to Neil Young for the umpteenth time that week. I've had my epiphany. I'm recalling now that both albums came out in late winter, in that pale light, among the leafless trees, as we along with nature possibly hibernated just a bit. But now with our awakening to the burst of leaves and flowers, the warm glow of the post-vernal sun, the mighty stag in the quiet wood ramming its cock into the roe deer, I get it. I really get it. Now I recall that this was much the same as the original album - that I needed an epiphanal spring walk in the woods to "get" this album.

Vid clearly demonstrates that even back in the day, bands were ascribing to the "let's all smoke some pot, join a commune and set our wordly aspirations aside" mindset.

Seems that "Nu-folk" sound has become all the rage lately. But even Popmasters like the Beach Boys couldn't make that shit sound good.

I must go walk among the calla lilys now and meditate.

Ah, I have to disagree here. I love the Beach Boys sound from 1966 through 1970, despite the slow devolution of Brian Wilson's interest in it (the real crapfest begins when Mike Love starts shoehorning his TM and ecology themed lyrics into it) . My point was that Fleet Foxes must love it too since much of the new album borrows that sound from the era lock, stock and barrel, with a little bit of Simon and Garfunkel's "Parsley, Sage Rosemary and Thyme" album thrown in.

I don't know why Nu-Folk has taken off either, particularly since it's been sitting on record shelves for 45 years but who am I to judge.
