BTW, I am slowly putting all 500 into a public Grooveshark playlist:

http://grooveshark.com/#/playlist/Nwo+Top+500/54602549

p.s. Some pessimist on NWO said a year ago that Grooveshark's death was imminent, but the shark is alive and jumpin'.

There are two additional travesties: the absence of "Second Skin" and "View from a Hill"!

I find it odd that The Police, Talking Heads, and Pretenders had a sum total of 0 songs in the top 325.

That's as it should be IMO. Personally I always thought all 3 of those bands were quite overrated. I'm actually pretty shocked that we all have such good taste [:D].

Awesome!!! I thought about something like this too but I haven't been on Grooveshark in a bit -- I like that you can upload songs not in their library already. I've been toying around with Rdio.com as well but it's not as flexible.

Looking at the previous results, I see that zill, schwenko and I all submitted new results and moved from group B to A. So of course 82 tries to get away from us and goes from A to B.

Whether they are overrated generally is a good question, and the answer is probably yes for the first two anyway, but not my point. (My very strong suspicion is that if these bands hadn't been popular and successful they would have several songs in the top 50 simply because they weren't popular and successful and therefore became infinitely cooler.) What I find silly is that the very BEST song that these three bands collectively produced isn't even within the vicinity of Fun Boy Three's cover of "Our Lips Are Sealed." I mean, the first albums by each of those three bands was pretty good! To each his own, I guess.

What I like about Grooveshark is that it usually multiple versions of a song, if multiple versions exist: live, 12", 7", DJ remixes, etc. Their library is pretty amazing, actually.

What I find interesting is that in terms of new music that people post in other forums, I tend to like more of what plagiarism posts than anyone else...and here we are clustered tightly together. Coincidence???
