A shame, each and every one of these, eh? By last time, I'm thinking 2007-only?
Terrible shame. (However, I do have a satisfied smile for the demise of the Buggles.)

And "Doot Doot" made it into the Top 50 let alone into the Top 10.

Jeez...

I'll have to take the fact that there's no Toylaht listed as a small consolation.

Interesting that the Police aren't anywhere on the list. Most of us (I think so, anyway...now that I think about it, I cannot really recall any Police discussions on the NWO) would seem to include them in our NW faves, but we seem to like so many diff. songs by them, statistically, they get lost. I have a suspicion that the Police would make a fave NW albums list, however.

Good point. I believe I put "The Truth Hits Everybody" in my top 50, but it is not a song most people would pick as a favorite.

[:D][:D][:D] Too funny. My feelings exactly!

Thanks Frau for taking the time to tally our favs. This time I did not look at anyone's list until after I posted mine. I promised myself I wouldn't make changes, but I did once. Enjoying looking at everyone's lists and checking out unfamiliar music.

What I find interesting is that in terms of new music that people post in other forums, I tend to like more of what plagiarism posts than anyone else...and here we are clustered tightly together. Coincidence???
The closer you are connected at the base of a branch to someone, the more closely your song and band selections are to that person.
OK, I get that.
Using a Spearman Rank Order algorithm with Weighted Centroid Clustering,
I swear I saw those two bands in the Urggh concert film ...
we again get two major clusters, a bigger A cluster on the left and a smaller B. I'm thinking the latter are the cool kids.
Dammit, I'm an uncool kid yet again! It's high school all over again. How do I get over to the much cooler B group? Smoke or don't smoke? Shaved or dyed hair? If dyed, which color? And Pinkees or Cactus World News?
I consider that far right node of A1b to be proof that all this donkulation works
I don't want to end up on the far right of anything. And please tell me "donkulation" is a made-up word. If not it should be one of the bands on Frank Chickens's list.
A2b is actually kinda weird. ExRat sits by himself at what you might call an A2b1 node then there's the rest of A2b2. A2b is almost like a Survivor Island scenario, where going from right to left, you can imagine nodes being voted off that are more and more different than the GROUP.
Jesus, this place is brutal! I just wanted to check out some bands and now I'm sitting in tribal council on Survivor Island? My fellow A2b tribe, game on. Don't panic: we have numbers. If we pull as hard as we can on our branches, we can yank the Bs from their seats and send them sprawling into the A1 and A2 camps, where we can force them to listen to Talking Heads and Police LPs for days at a time.
GROUP is a composite individual representing the top 50 choices - the "norm" so to speak.
I say we bum rush GROUP outta here! I never liked his haircut or his girlfriend, and the guy has no opinions of his own.

Oh wow, this has got to be one of the funniest posts I have seen on this forum in literally years. Especially that part about donkulation. [:D]

Oh and you made a pretty good point about Fun Boy Three earlier. Even though I don't care for The Police, The Pretenders or The Talking Heads, I'm pretty sure I can find at least one song by all of them that I like more than "Our Lips are Sealed."
