New Thurston Moore....thoughts, Motors?

Postby ghosty » Wed Jun 22, 2011 11:25 am

This "Demolished Thoughts" album seems a bit polarizing with some fans hating the leisurely acoustic feel of the whole project while others applaud the musicianship and understated arrangements. As much as I despise the whole acoustic singer/songwriter virus that's draining the rock out of "Indie Rock" these days I have to admit that this CD is growing on me. This track in particular reminds me of the sort of pastoral sound Pink Floyd experimented with from that "More" to "Meddle" period.

I've only gotten around to listening to it twice and while I like it more than Trees Outside The Academy, that's really not saying all that much. I really do need to give it a few more listens, but at this point I can't see it being the album I go to when I need a Thurston fix.
