APB interview Aug 25 / WLIR / Museum

Postby dennydaniel » Sun Aug 21, 2011 11:10 pm

Hi hi!

First of all, CHECK OUT the Museum of Interesting Things website, lots of great stuff to see like a pigeon parachute on the science page! We also starting to schedule the new school season so call us for date availability.

We added some new pics & info on the media page of cool people you might know like Joey Ramone's brother Mickey Leigh and his new book and Mayor Bloomberg and DJ's from WLIR pics and a short video!

Huffy, the museum mascot, was on CNN recently being silly! See the video on our website too! www.museumthings.org

*******
If you love the new music scene of the 80's you will enjoy my interview with APB, they mixed New wave, Rock, Punk and Funk and made it pretty big then.

I will play some classic tracks and some live tracks material not released back then & music from the new release. I caught then backstage after their show at the Highline Ballroom in NYC this weekend. I interviewed the lead singer Iain Slater and the whole band, crew and old friends were there.

It airs on Flashback Alternatives this
Thursday Aug. 25 at 9pm eastern US time and then again at Midnight.
It will also air this Sunday Aug 28 at 9am eastern US time.

You can tune in right off the website http://www.flashbackalternatives.com/
or open your itunes player radio tab and Flashback Alternatives is under the alternative tab. They get several 100 listeners a day and it is an all request station.

I also invite you to tag on the radio stations tag board. You will see it on the home page. it is easy to do. if you click " pop up the tag" it will give you a nice window to type into.

You can also hear it on WFKU a great NYC station on the web and Itunes Sunday Aug 28 at 8-9pm & Mon Aug 29 6-7pm

enjoy!

cheerios!
Denny

Cool Denny. Thanks! The Friday gig was a blast despite the stupidly late start. I didn't grow up with LIR, but I could tell from my friends there that it was a special treat to see most of their old DJs and even their former original owner. My friend J snapped these pics...

Larry the Duck, Malibu Sue, Elton Spitzer (the owner who is given credit to have allowed their free format), Carol Silva of News 12, and Donna Donna:

The whole crew including Mickey Leigh, Joey Ramone's brother (you can guess who!):

The band, who played their self-professed longest set ever at over 20 songs and 1:45hrs:
