I have an LP by a band called "Planning By Numbers", probably a different band altogether?

It was released in 1984, and as far as I can tell it was released on a 12", though judging by its length not as the main track.

As for the label, I can't help you there.

It was included in the ID tags when I downloaded it from the now sadly-defunct Torchomatic site.

I originally posted "Automatic Introductions" on my blog a few years ago after finding it through the Torchomatic site.

Just like the post above, I was told it was really by some guy called Steve Cameo.

I just bought a three track 12 inch in London. The artist is, indeed, Playing By Numbers, the catalog number is CAR 1002 and the distribution is by Carmel UK, based in London. The three tracks are "Automatic Introductions" (4:10), "Too Much Temptation" (4.25) and "Can't Get You Out of My Mind" (3.50). The tracks are dated 1984.

There are three guys on the front and back cover and based on the writing credits they may well be Piers Skelton, and two people called Lofting and Jenner. The last track was also co-written and co-produced with Hazell Dean.

I hope somebody finds this information useful.

Thanks Swerve, that's really interesting!

It certainly looks like the same guy on both records. I'm trying to follow up the Hazell Dean connection as apparently they worked together on a few tracks.
