Not New Wave, but what the heck happened to Aerosmith over the years. They were so awesome in the 70's, total rockers. I don't even know how to describe what they did throught the 80's and 90's, i guess bubble gum rock. No edge at all. [xx(]

Talk Talk and Human League are great examples. The Lemonheads got progressively worse with each album. Killing Joke made a serious misstep (Outside The Gates) before returning to form. Then you have people like TSOL and GBH doing metal albums.[:(!]

the Stranglers, I thought, really changed their sound. Their early stuff sounds so raw and guitar-based, vs. their later stuff like "Golden Brown" and "Skin Deep". Such beautiful, shoe-gazery-type melodies!
