I've noticed an explosion of tribute bands lately, many inspired by the late 70s/ early 80s. Here's a brief list of acts playing our local county fair. Anybody seen a tribute band they really liked?

No Duh? How the Hell does no Doubt have a tribute band? Ok, you played your one song, thanks, good night.

Your local fair sucks. Is there not one real band?

Of course there is!

Does "Purple Reign- THE Prince Tribute Show" count?

What about "Queen Nation- The Tribute to the Music of Queen"?

We do have Three Dog Night with The Guess Who. Pretty sure they're not all original members, though.

In the meantime I'm starting my own cover bands; New Orderves, Violet Flem and Missing Persians.

Saw a Jam tribute band a couple years ago. The singer tried too hard to sound like Paul Weller, it became a bit irritating. It also pissed me off that I wasn't seeing the real thing.
