I'm scrolling through bands of today, and I see a few things that don't catch my intrest: Some of them have totally taken the spirit of it from wide-eyed fun to low-brow darkness. So messy. I don't mean to rag on them but they're starting to turn it into a private genre! Mainstream won't even look at it anymore because of the over-the-top crudeness its starting to take up. I just wish one day it'll start to get organized so everyone can see our genre as something to get into again...

A lot of modern synthpop has gone the way of (crappy) futurepop and EBM. It's that really drawn-out synthpop with no "catchability." In my opinion, Freezepop does the best modern synthpop of today (from what I've heard so far). Very retro sound, simpli

I myself am a fan of industrial darksynth, but to a certain extent. there was mention of the dislike of "faggy" vocals. In comparisant to dismembered and primitive stuff i'll take "faggy" any day.

even as a big mo.. I have to agree that too much of the modern synthpop is techo ladden with "faggy" vocals - "faggy" in that they don't have any emotion to the lyrics.
