New Wave hub--are you interested?

Discuss hard-to-find or out-of-print New Wave and '80s Alternative, and share a few songs along the way.
NOTE: requesting songs that are entirely unrelated to the genres discussed here or easily found on CD is strongly discouraged and posts will be enforced as needed.

<br>Does anyone know why after I downloaded songs from the Hub and I go to play them in iTunes, I get the following message for most of them (not all of them)?
"Song cannot be used because the original file could not be found. would you like to locate it?"
All my downloads are in the DCC download folder which I added to iTunes.
Thanks

John

I believe there may be copyright and/or file type compatibility issues with imported non-iTunes files. I don't use iTune s myself and use winamp v5.08d as my default music file player. I have yet to have a problem with playing any audio files recognized as a mp3, mp4 or wav audio (short of one that is corrupted, incomplete or damaged)

I'm an iTunes/Mac/iPod user so I just want to make sure that everyone can read AAC files. [:)]

I use iTunes and have never had a problem with any MP3, so it might be something else?

Yeah, I can't figure it out.........but I just discovered from another thread on the board that the updated Windows Media 10, which is what I've always used in the past, now allows mp3 storage - I just needed to change my preferences.

Thanks for the insights' though. Much appreciated.

Now that I've changed my name, I'm allowed back in. Not sure if I'm setup 100% for transfers though. Still contemplating between active and passive mode.

Nate, you've done a great job with this Hub. VERY much apreciated!!

I have singles now that I've been searching for for over 20 years and could only get by purchasing a complete CD (and in many cases - having to ship from overseas)..... and the Hub has allowed me to download an incredible amount of material that is truly overwhelming.

And you have been a tremendous help in anwering questions. Thanks again!!

Happy to do it! Don't just thank me though, it's the hub users that has made the hub into the great thing it is. I just hope we can get more users to join!

FYI - Anyone using Comcast broad band should have noticed a speed increase recently, if you have'nt you need to re-boot your cable modem.

There would be more music to discover to download if grunge ever comes back to the hub.
