I'm sure you probably know this but Dr. & The Medics did a cover of this tune around 1986.

We've Got A Fuzzbox And We're Gonna Use It. Can be found on their recent compilation CD, "Look at the Hits on That" (credited as Fuzzbox).

Doctor & The Medics version also features male vocals, like the original, not female.

I don't know a female lead cover of the song, but perhaps it's a Italo Disco cut. They covered everything.

Yep, but technically "...Rita" was credited to the Vindaloo Summer Special, which was Fuzzbox and other groups on the Vindaloo label.

Well then.. so my question to you sir would be: Is there more than one version of 'Rockin With Rita'? cause I swear the one that I have (namechecks 'Fuzzbox' in the song) sounds different from the version that I used to hear on WLIR back in the day.

LIR used to play the 12" version, which is slightly different than the 7" version (the 7" is on the Look At The Hits compilation). They actually namecheck all the artists in the song.

The song that I'm searching is not a cover of the spirit in the sky, only has a sampler of the guitars of the Norman Greenbaum song, the song starts with a girl voice that says " uh uhuhuh uhuhuh". Any idea about it (this is a song about 1987-19889
