"Are you Valid? Are you Void? " Recognize this?

Ok - this one is proving to be quite frustrating.

Who knows anything (artist, title, web, etc) about the early to mid eighties punkish/new waves song with these lyrics:

"Are you Valid? Are you void? Are you a victim? Are you Paranoid?"

The Chorus simply sings "Aaare you void...are you void, are you void, are void......or are you paranoid. P-P-P-P-P-Paranoid....are you?"

The video was this guy with his face painted with gold or silver makeup. He had a huge mohawk and the video was basically him playing with a mirror (you know - those arty 80's). It had a post punk, indy, new wave feel to it.

I thought the song was called "Shrink" and the artist was called "Dear Bill"(?). But I only ever saw it on a local, north vancouver "alternative video" show and only once, in about 1984. It was a pretty cool song and I'm really suprised that I haven't found anything about it online.

Anyone?

I think you're looking for "Valid or Void" by Shrink. If so, there are copies available at GEMM.com

Check out a compilation of various artists called Propaganda. I have the original on vinyl. If you are a diehard punk/new wave follower, then you must add this album to your collection.

There will never be another era of music like the late 70s and 80s. This was truly cutting edge!
