a very special new wave compilation (tribute)

There's a Spanish fanzine called Le Touriste who recently issued a double cd in tribute to new wave. There are all very new Spanish pop bands, some of them known here but most of them amateurs. There are also member of local famous bands with other names. If you like naïve covers or you are a die hard collector of new wave related items, this is a special product, made with lots of love and illusion. There are great covers in there, of course. For interested people, this is the track list of the comp. The covered bands are in brackets. There are some NW Spanish bands covered, also. BTW, I hardly recommend you to search in soulseek or wherever the original versions of songs 4, 12 and 17 in cd1 and 4 and 6 in cd2

CD 1
1.-Clyde.-Noche de lluvia en Madrid (Los Modelos)
2.-Piano.-Souvenir (OMD)
3.-Zola.-Between you and me (Graham Parker)
4.-Naïf.-Para ti (Paraíso)
5.-Santi Campos&Amparo Arias.-Hometown (Joe Jackson)
6.-Eduardo Izquierdo&Jonathan Vidal.-Otra tarde (Los Secretos)
7.-Me Enveneno de Azules.-Como hasta hoy (Nacha Pop)
8.-Los Pulpops.-Mission a Paris (Gruppo Sportivo)
9.-Souvenir.-Amoreux solitaires (Lio)
10.-Cola Jet Set.- They Don't Know (Kirsty McColl)
11.-Vacaciones.- A Fluor (Derribos Arias)
12.-Corazón.- Groenlandia (Los Zombies)
13.-Puffins.- Interferencias (Sector B)
14.-Shizuka.- Charlotte Sometimes ( The Cure)
15.-Zona Negativa.-Ya no volverás (Mamá)
16.-Nobel.- Canción de los Electroduendes (ellos mismos)
17.-Ecuánimes.-Cazadora de cuero (Farmacia de Guardia)

Disco 2
1.-Thy Surfyin'Eyes.- Part-time Pops (Television Personalities)
2.-Viskovitz.- Vámomos de Marcha (Los Ramones)
3.-Fang.- Personal Jesus (Depeche Mode)
4.-Verano en Lisboa.- Bajo tus luces (Kiki d'Aki)
5.-Smookers.-Welcome to the working week (Elvis Costello)
6.-Suzy Cher&B.Bono.- Un poquito de amor (Los Romeos)
7.-Fortune Tellers.- Whenever in gone (The Prisoners)
8.-Bubblegum.- Every fall in love? (Buzzcocks)
9.-The Runarounds.-Now (The Plimsouls)
10.-Aston Martins.- Teenage Kicks/One Way or Another
(Undertones/Blondie)
11.-J'aime.- You'll always find me in the Kitchen at Parties (Jona
Lewie)
12.-Panorama.-Picture This (Blondie)
13.-Burgas Beat.-The high road (The Feelies)
14.-Octubre.-Chica Cruel (Mamá)
15.-Tecnicolor.- Mi plato favorito (Rubi)
16.-Demian.- Calling (The Cure)
17.-Pulsar.-Noche de lluvia en Madrid (Los Modelos)

This fanzine is great. Last issue had a 46-page "bubblegum" dossier and next one, close to be out, a ¡70! page article about glam-rock. Plus some other new romantic and new wave related texts. It's only published once a year but is well worth the wait
