I went to their website recently, and I was slightly taken aback by something I saw there. The members were trying to record a new CD, but didn't have the financial backing for studio space rental, so they were asking the fans to make donations to them. If you donated $50.00 or more, you would get an autographed copy of the CD that would be released from those sessions. What do you all think of this? I guess it's a kind of innovative way to raise the money like that, but I'm a little leery of seeing a band of their caliber becoming almost like a charity case. Plus, what kind of guarantee would there be that there would even be a new CD?

I like them, but that sounds weird. If its legit, more power to them. But I would hate to send someone money and have the whole thing go bad.

It was legit....and it's a bit in the past. Enough money was donated for them(being Barry Andrews, Carl Marsh, Dave Allen, Lu Edmonds, etc)to record and press a mini-lp called 'Having A Moment', released(by them)some time last year. Those who donated rece

I can't seem to find their stuff on CD. Maybe it was never released on CD? Incidentally, I just finished burning a bunch of their material onto CD-R from old tapes.....

It's mostly out of print, marvymarv, except for "Oil & Gold". And as I learned here just days ago (which sparked this thread), "Jam Science" was never released to CD.
