I'd have to say that one of the most intriguing things about being on this board is learning about all the interesting radio stations from back in the day and attempts to revive their sound on Internet radio.
I'm a radio geek-so please indulge me. I had known about KROQ for a long time and have just learned about WLIR, The Quake and for my money THE most interesting-KJET-which played "alternative" rock on an AM station in the 80s-except for my college radio station-radio programming in the 80s around central wisconsin was largely a black hole-any other interesting commercial radio stations from that era I should know about?-This might even make an interesting idea for some academic research-maybe I could use this board as a jumping off point for some ethnographic research (for those not steeped in "academese"-ethnographic is looking at a group's culture and using immersion, observation and interviews to construct cultural meanings).
