When the Walkman became popular there was a short movement of publishers releaseing "magazines" on cassette. I've got 6 issues of one called SFX and they are priceless! Interviews with Bow Wow Wow, including a short interview with Anabella's mom when those 2 were fighting with each other, The Stranglers and Bette Bright review records on one tape, "Save Lennox and Annie Stewart" from the Eurythimics reviewing records on another tape. An otherwise-unreleased piece by Bill Nelson, a "demo of the week" by an unknown band called Blancmange... I think I'm going to try to build a web page devoted to SFX as I haven't been able to find any information about these tapes anywhere on the net.

I've got a single issue of one from Australia ca. 1983 but I can't remember the name of it. I know it has The Clash in it. I'll have to dig it out and give it a good review.

"Debut" magazine came with a 12" LP every issue. But that was just music. What I'm talking about are full-on magazines on tape, complete with interviews, ads, etc.

The only thing I can think of is "Mars Hill" tapes wich is a Christian apologetics/culture review done in an NPR (National Public Radio) style
