This was a video played in the early 80's on MTV when cable still used switch boxes. ANyway it was a mechanical head ( NOT LOU REED'S NO MONEY DOWN ) but something similar. It sounded synthy The only lyrics I can remember is something to the effect of " I can't understand why you make me feel this way" prob the chorus.

Could be Pete Townshend's video for "Face Dances Part 2", which featured mechanical, robotic heads as my foggy memory recalls.

Contains a similar line:
"You make me feel like I don't care"

Try listening to the sample for the song at Amazon.com:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/de ... B00000DP1S

It does sound like he's saying "I can't understand" when he sings "I can only stare", so this may the one.
