Name Of Song & Artist Requested

Name Of Song & Artist Requested

Postby msarafian » Mon Jan 24, 2005 1:04 pm

Hi,

There's this new wave/alternative song which probably came out in the late 1980's, which I really love, but have no clue as to which artist sings it, or what is the name of it. I have been going crazy trying to research all over the search engines, but have absolutely no luck. I would greatfully appreciate it if anyone knows from the lyrics I tried so hard to jot down. Please see below. Thank you!

SOME EXCERPTS WHICH I WAS SOMEWHAT ABLE TO UNDERSTAND

......tell you this
now i'm feeling so confused
and i know you'll be there
if you took a look in my eyes
when i get home when i'm [?]_____
when i get home it seems so wrong
to be treated again
my fair lady
loves me so well she would give me
First she took a look in my eyes
she saw a picture of you
maybe you were in disguise
i was never untrue

surely you will understand
i must take my life in hand
unforgettable pain
you don't need me hanging around
love is waiting

Then she took a look in my eyes
she saw a picture of you
maybe you were here in disguise
and i was never untrue
.........

The song is called "The Picture". I recognize it from the cover done by a Synthpop act called Iris on their <I>Disconnect[/i] album (1999). I'm not sure who did it originally, but it likely would be a German act, Hubert Kah perhaps.

The song writers (Kemmler, Killer, Lohr, Hirschburger) did a lot of work for Hubert Kah, Sandra, and a bunch of lesser known German artists.

OK this is a rediculous request, but here goes.... I heard an 80's artist on a Jersey station (SOU?) a couple years ago and have found it impossible to find any info on him or downloads. And now I forgot his name!!!

It was a Paul Weller type of name... but nothing familiar on this sites list.
No, not Nick Kershaw, Peter Schilling, Paul Young or any of those. Somebody mid 80's.
With a strong unique sound. Damn I forgot his name and lost the paper I wrote it on. He may have a had a seperate group also.

Throw me some long forgotten WLIR names!!! people... thanks.

The song is The Picture and it is Hubert Kah. The better version of the song is actually on the soundtrack to the movie Once Bitten, if you can find it.
