The Depeche Mode Code

Postby Dave » Mon Jun 27, 2005 11:05 am

I’m coming forward now with the hope one of you can help. I’ve recently come across some deeply disturbing information. A recent thread about Freur’s Doot Doot set a series of events in motion that is hard to ignore.

The information I have uncovered: New Wave artists have been trying to tell us something. Yes, for the past 25 years they’ve been trying to tell us something. But what, I don’t know.

Clue #1

In the song Doot Doot, Freur announces:

“And we go doot,
Doot doot”

Why? Why do they go doot? And what does it mean to doot? And who’s doot dooting? Is it just the band members, all new wave artists, or new wave fans as well. Are they telling *us* to doot doot? I don’t know.

Then, after they tell us to doot doot comes a wail, like someone laughing… someone with a secret.

Clue #2

Within the next day or so, the next clue hit me (best if read like Capt. Kirk):

Everybody… have fun tonight.

Everybody… Wang Chung tonight

What do they mean? Who, who should Wang Chung? Is it the same as doot dooting? Ok, it’s fun but just what is it?

Clue #3

Yes, deeply disturbing, I know. But perhaps the most disturbing piece of the puzzle is Men Without Hats’ announcement, “I’ve got the message, and the message is clear.” What is the message? Who are they speaking to? Other people in-the-know? Other New Wave artists? To us, the new wave fans?

They continue…

It’s mine
Not yours
Get down
On all fours (ok, at this point, I’m thinking it’s about sex, but read on)

It’s long
And hard (now I’m sure of it, but continue)
This road
Road to mars

Ok, weird alien sex? Martian prostitutes? Maybe.
There are other clues, but the connections are less clear:

- Squeeze tells us “it’s cool for cats”. But what, what is so cool for cats? Are there cats on mars?
- Go-Go’s tell us their ‘lips are sealed’. A subtle communique to others in-the-know?
- Devo has an uncontrollable urge… to do what? I just don’t know.
- And just what is a teenaged goo goo muck?

So this is where I need your help. Are any of you NWO members knowledgeable in the art if ciphering?
Or, better yet, are any of you keysmasters? Blir, 2Nu, Schwenko, Marie3?
Gatekeepers? Mike P., KYYX4ever,
Members of the Priory of Scion? No, that probably wouldn’t be useful.

Does anyone know what they’re trying to tell us? Has anyone else seen clues?

I’m calling this the Depeche Mode Code. Why? I don’t know. It was catchy. Funny how some people always ask a question, then answer it. Wasn’t that a Seinfeld episode? Yes, it was.

You know if you listen closesly to "Everybody have Fun Tonight" there's a backup lyric that says "Can you tell me what a Wang Chung is?"

Dave,
I dunno, but it sounds like you've been spending way too much time with Frayo. [;)]

I think Dorian holds the key.

DaVinci Code and WoTW mania has finally come home to roost amongst the NWO Illuminati.
These are the end times.
Having said that I'll throw some mid 80's moribund Bowie into the mix.

I am still trying to figure out what "two red circles and a thick black spine" is in "All Lined Up" by Shriekback. I even tried to start a thread about this (it tanked [:D] )

Thanks for all the feedback. And don't listen to the detractors... they're obviously trying to hide something.

Ben - this Dorian you speak of... is this a trustworthy source?

I think you're onto something 2Nu... I suspected the Knights where invo

What about one of NW's great unsolved "riddles"?

"near a tree by a river
there's a hole in the ground
where an old man of aran
goes around and around
and his mind is a beacon
in the veil of the night
for a strange kind of fashion
there's a wron

It may have something to do with a submarine gone missing - and a call for radio silence [V] What does it all mean. [?]
