Patti Smith West Coast (and East Coast) dates

Postby schwenko » Sat Oct 08, 2005 10:49 pm

from the Patti Smith mailing list:

"Patti Smith and Lenny Kaye will celebrate the original
release of HORSES (on November 10, 1975) as well as
the Columbia Legacy 2-Disc Special Edition of HORSES,
HORSES on November 8, 2005 will a mini tour of the
West Coast.

Although Patti and Lenny were originally planning to
appear by themselves, it now appears that the entire
band will be coming along for these shows.

Strangely after playing these three intimate venues
(of less than 500 seats) Patti and band will play to a
sold out crowd of 20,000 fans at Madison Square
Garden. Supporting Patti at the Garden: Irish rockers,
U2.

November 11 Seattle: Crocodile Cafe

November 14 San Francisco: Great American Music Hall

November 15 West Hollywood: The Troubadour"

I actually just saw/met Patti here in Portland-I went to her book signing she had at Music Millenium here for her new book of Poetry. I heard she was here for an H.P. Lovecraft foilme fest & that she was doing a short performance somewhere else, but it was fun to get to see her & have her sign my book.
