ZZZZzzzzzzz...uhhh...umm...YAWN...uhhh...did somebody turn the lights on? Do I have my clothes on? Where are my teeth? Where is my hearing aid? Will you help me sift the flour to make the dough?
Um, oh yes...how old are your sons? Did you watch much Three Stooges as a child or did your parents punish you by pushing your head into vats of ice water when you were very, very bad?
(So many questions...)
Actually, I probably still have you tape - I have kept most of them. Hundreds. Funny thing, I send an email to EMP every other year or so, saying: "Hey, I have a bunch of tapes. Who the foo-foo knows who's on these things? Maybe there's someone 'famous' like Slim Whitman or Dick Cheney or an early/rare/acoustic Sponge Bob are on one of them? Did Kurt send one in? I dunno..."
But for some odd reason I never hear back from them. Ever. Maybe they've seen those recent photos of me in the Post Office. Or maybe they never heard "Flying Saucer Attack" or "Locals Only" or "Bag Ladies."
(What is an EMP anyway? Misspelled AMP, IMP, UMP?)
Okay, you said you wanted to hear from me (tell your kids to put their hands over their ears, please):
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH.
Hear that?
My 7 and 10-year-old boys love The Ramones. Actually, when my 7-year old was 5 he went wild for White Stripes. Now he's into Gorillaz thanks to his 10-year-old brother (who is way into The Beatles as well).
They both love The Modern Lovers, They Might Be Giants and their favorite movie of all time is "Napoleon Dynamite" (must be that Big In Japan song) although they have seen "School of Rock" and "Sholin Soccer" maybe a dozen times each.
Okay, it's time for my nurse to take me out for my daily walk and then a big bowl of mashed prunes...It's been nice chatting with you. Thank you for the kind thoughts - my only interest in being on the radio was to make people smile and to turn them on to new ideas (like, um, supporting true home-grown music).
Back to bed...Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz jjoudra jao autjr;werkaqbgo mlm.mgm
