Went with Strip - Adam Ant but I'd vote for Walking on Sunshine or Human League's -Human in a heartbeat.

If you want to add a real stinker to your list, try:

Nena - 99 Luftballoons

Now there's a song that could be erased from our memories, and it wouldn't hurt a bit [:D].

Kate Bush - Wow. Honestly, the worst song I've ever heard in my life.

Gotta go with Tarzan Boy - simply laughable. At least most of the other artists listed had some decent material, making the occasional crap song more forgivable.

WHAT?! No "Shiny Shiny" or "Puttin' On The Ritz"?! What kind of worst list is this without two of the main headliners? Add Wall Of Voodoo's "Mexican Radio" to this pile, but I have to admit to really liking the Baltimora song... anyone else here into Italodisco?

Btw, voted for Total Coelo. That song is the most irritating of the bunch.

Yeah, me too! Lay off Robert!

I voted for "The War Song", but never liked "Wake Me Up" or "Tarzan Boy" either.

Total Coelo may not have contributed much to the genre, but you have to admit it has a cool beat. Gotta love those trashbag dresses!

I never thought of "I Wanna Be A CowboY" as New Wave, but that's the most retch-worthy song of the bunch!

BTW, it's "Take The L Out Of Lonely" by the Motels ("take the L out of lonely and it's only")

I gotta agree with "I Want To Be a Cowboy." At least from this list. Actually, I LIKE many of the songs on that list.

To me the WORST New Wave songs are the FAKE ones. By fake, I mean people trying to sound like New Wave but failing miserably. Such as Rod Stewart's "Young Turks" or Billy Joel's "It's Still Rock 'N Roll to Me." I worked in radio at the time and the record companies were trying to convince us that those were New Wave songs.
