Welcome to the new forum!

Toni Basil for me is sononymous with the action known as VOMIT.
I've tried and tried again to aquire a taste for it...but le sigh. I havent and I guess I never will.

I stand on the opposite end as far as Hart goes. First Offence 83 was awesome.

I always thought it was take the R out of Rubber and it's Ubber.

And go back and listen to the "I Wanna Be a Cowboy" lyrics again. It's a hilarious tongue-in-cheek song! The "Ted, Oh Ted!" chorus is a riot. I bet we're not digging deep enough into some of of these songs. I mean, war, war IS stupid, isn't it? [:D]

Actually, I think there's some fun stuff on this list, such as the Trio song and the Men Without Hats song. Just goes to show how subjective it all is.
I placed my vote for The War Song by Culture Club. This song is so insipidly bad, it's pathetic; and the accompanying video for it didn't help matters any. If one song could kill a successful band's career, this would be it.

I just abhorred 'Jesus On The Payroll' by The Thrashing Doves.

Worst new wave song? Even though I have all 19 rhino comps. (NWGHits)
and lived through it. There's a shitload of bad new wave singles.
Adam Ant is the king of self-consciously silly new wave and I love him dearly, but the WORST has to be:
Dead or Alive: You spin me round
The worst because it has no idea how bad it it. No self-acknowledgement
of it's sillyness. Ever see the video? Bad ideas are always bad ideas.
I saw this "band" live once in I think 85/86. Talk about clearing the place. And THEY were the headliners. I've seen more interesting automobile accidents.

I agree about Adam Ant, but I think his early work with Adam & the Ants is top-notch. His solo work, however......
