Has anyone figured this song out yet. The artist sounds a little familiar, but I'm not sure who it is?

Great song....took me a little while to remember but the song is by a band called HOORAH BOYS HOORAH and is called "So Long" - it was released as a b-side to their great single called "Is This What You Promised Me". The band released one other single called "How The West Was Won" - also great stuff. They never commercially released anything else - hope this helps!

Thanks. It felt great to get that song identified. That song sounded sort of familiar. I think I might have heard it before on some internet radio station. About the band, Where are they from?

I believe most of the band members were from the London area. At one time, I had brief contact with Helene Muddiman via e-mail who was one of the members of the band. Unfortunately for fans of these two singles, nothing else was ever commercially released.

You can visit her website here:

Finding the "Is This What You Promised Me" single is not hard via GEMM. The more difficult single to locate is their earlier single "How The West Was Won"

Good ear, ocean. One of the other members was Ade Orange (Adrian Crickmer) of Gary Numan fame.

Weirdly, I think I have this single, remember the A-side, and don't remember the B-side at all. Then again, there are a lot of singles where I only listened to the A-side...

Had no idea Helene composed the music to so many different things. I've even watched some of them, too.

I don't know anything about Ricky.....you could e-mail Helene direct through her website in one of my earlier posts on this topic and she could probably fill you in on the details. Great band - too bad there is no other material available outside of the 2 singles.
