well, this isn't exactly new wave, and i'll probably get torn apart for saying it, but i can never stop whistling "the final countdown" by europe!
every time i hear it, it stays in my head for like a month!

Jay Geil's Band had Angel in a Centerfold; about as new wave as Final Countdown[;)]

Incidentally, when I saw XTC in concert, the whistling part on "Generals & Majors" was done with a synth.
