Mobiles "Drowning in Berlin" Discography??

Hey All,

This may be a stretch, even for this board, but Cherry Red records are going to be releasing the very rare LP by Mobiles on CD, tentatively scheduled for a March release. This female-led New Romantic band had a huge hit in early 1982 with the song "Drowning in Berlin". We are hoping to include everything the band released (on Rialto records), but I've not been able to find a comprehensive discography. Just when I think I'm aware of everything they released, I find another piece of vinyl I've not heard of! Here's what I now have, and will hope to include on the CD:

Mobiles-10 track LP
Tiptoe in Paradise (B side "Drowning in Berlin" 7")
Skeleton Dance (B side "Amour amour" 7")
Snow man (B side "Partners in fiction" 7")
Pictures in the dark (B side "Fear" 12")
Amour Amour 12" mix
Fear 12" mix

I literally only found the "Fear" 12" existed in the last few months, and just obtained it a couple of days ago. There is also said to be another 7" out there, though I've never seen it in all these years. Can anyone confirm the release of the 7" catalogue # RIA 15: Build me up buttercup b/w Don't pay the axeman? Also, if there's any other singles released on Rialto records not in this list, please let me know. I'm aware of the "You're not alone" 7", but it contains no songs/versions not on the LP. I'm also aware of the 1984 single "Lost without your love", but it's owned by a different record company. I also heard rumor of a second LP titled "Stampede". Can anyone confirm this release?

Hope I didn't get your hopes up Rubellan - I've never heard of Mobiles, but I thought this topic should go back onto page 1 because they sound intriguing. Sounds like the perfect band for this board.

I've got an mp3 of Drowning in Berlin but have never heard anything else. Are there other tracks that are a little more...well..upbeat? Don't get me wrong, I love Drowning in Berlin, just wondering if it is representative of the rest of their tunes.

Yes, there are definitely more upbeat tracks on the album. Drowning In Berlin was their bit of New Romantic moodiness that got them noticed. If you give me an email address I can send a few tracks, or even a file containing samples of several tracks.

Thank goodness they still have the masters! Looking forward to Artery too.

EiG.. yeah "Sixth Sense" was a fiasco. Apparently they have improved the sound on the recent "No Noise - Best of" but I haven't heard it. The Fashion CD could do with some remastering too. A bit flat-sounding that one.

I hope they would reissue a whole cd by In Embrace since they're sort of related.
