Alphaville - The Nelson Highrise

I always loved this Alphaville track from the B-Side of the Sounds Like A Melody 12"...The Nelson Highrise (Sector One: The Elevator)

The vocals don't kick in for awhile...

I have Sector Two on the Dance With Me 12" as well which is not nearly as cool. This is where my love affair with Alphaville ended. I believe there is a Sector Three: The Garage...does anyone have it???

Hi.
The Sector Three (The Garage) is totally different, eerie, and amazing if you're a fan.
I'm a huge Alphaville fan, hence my username:
avcool4u - AlphaVille cool for you.

I have just about everything they've ever done, I'll post some cool stuff for you when I get this send it thing figured out.

This is what you want ...
<a href="http://s23.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=028LBKARW76ID37DM1WHAJ2YBX" target=_blank>Afternoons in Utopia Instrumental</a>
from the Dreamscapes boxset [???; DE]
... leeched from the internet (because Marian Gold is a stuck up asshole who doesn't want to make the boxset available again and I'm sure not going to pay 80EUR for the shitty digital download release ... not that 80EUR isn't overpriced if it was the CD version either).

ALPHAVILLE: DREAMSCAPES (8 CD BOX SET, 01/99)
This box is out of print and not available anymore!
'Dreamscapes' is an anthology comprising of eight CDs, 125 songs and an absolute playing time of about 9 1/2 hours - including a huge 65 page full colour booklet!

Not a single song featured on Dreamscapes has been heard before in this form. Dreamscapes also includes a complete live album (cd 4).

43 songs have never been released before at all, that is almost as many songs as the band has released on all its studio albums. In other words, Dreamscapes contains the equivalent of four brand-new album plus a further four of demo versions, unknown remixes, rare live recordings, all the flip-sides and band-internal experiments.
This universe covers the period of 1978 to 1998 ad.

Here is the dreamscapes version. I'm not exactly sure how it differs from the original mix, but it's nothing like sector one. I can't imagine the song being much different. It is beautiful though.

Nelson Highrise Sector 3:
VINGT MILLE LIEUES SOUS LES MERS/THE GARAGE
lyrics & music: Gold-Lloyd-Echolette

Down in the garage,
Drifting in her embrace
He's on an island
Of serenity
Outside the gateway
They're comin' closer
Rain settles gently on their
Uniforms
Comme vingt mille lieues
Sous les mers
Comme vingt mille lieues sous les mers
Down in the garage
After the race
For only a moment
The earth
Stood still
While they are kissing
Exposed by the searchlights
Into the cameras
She fires
Her gun
Comme vingt mille...

Let me know if that link worked or not.

If you like more upbeat stuff, this mix will hold it's own against any dance mix:

Enjoy!
