NWO New Wave FAQ

Postby Dave » Thu Mar 17, 2005 2:36 pm

Given all the inquiries about NW on this board and the wealth of expertise from the resident gurus, would anybody be interested in creating a New Wave FAQ? Mike has an excellent "brief history" on this site which should serve as a starting point.

We could create an outline and manage it "open source" style. Possible topics: NW genres, quintessential NW bands/albums/songs, NW milestones, famous NW concerts, NW moments on TV (just saw U2 appearance on Tom Snyder show on VH1!), NW family tree, NW remakes, NW in commercials, etc. Last summer I compiled a NWO survey on favorite bands... could do it again.

I know AMG has lots of NW info, but I've been blasted on more than one occassion for quoting them too often. There are probably other FAQs out there too, but we should create our own... or is it Overkill? [;)]

Dave, that's an excellent idea! I'd be happy to host such a beast. We should all start brainstorming some additional outline topics.

That sounds like an excellent idea. A lot of us are a wealth of info. It would be great to share it.

If I was to make a suggestion for site enhancements, I'd prefer to see polls (the one's with bar graphs?) before avatars.

Mike et al. - How about the following outline as a starting point??

BTW, we all have to promise not to respond to any newbies with "Read the F***ing FAQ!" [:D]

NW History & Timeline
- leverage the existing write-up
- a timeline highlighting major

I'd love to contribute what little knowledge I have to the project. I listen to a lot of modern music; I'd be happy to give some artists that are 80s-influenced, something along those lines.
