Can anyone recommend any solo Cale stuff for me? I loved "The Sleeper" from the Situation Two compilation and while I was mostly unimpressed with the album it came from (Artificial Intelligence), there are a couple of decent tracks. What I'd really like is some more eerie stuff like "The Sleeper". Any ideas? Thanks!

Not sure any of these tracks are in the vein of The Sleeper, but I've always enjoyed his 1973 release 'Paris 1919' the most. I think it is rated one of his best, though it may not fit the bill for a particular sound you may be looking for. Still, well worth a preview.

Thanks Grunch. I checked it out and while it wasn't what I was looking for, it was still pretty damn good. I think I'll try "Fear" next.

He put out one pretty good album in the mid-70's called "Slow Dazzle" which I really liked. Very Eno-like. In fact I think Eno had a hand in producing it. It had a catchy tune on it called "Mr. Wilson."

I seem to recall that his 2004 album Hobo Sapiens got great reviews when it came out, although I haven't actually heard it.

I always like his album "Fear" the best, though "Helen of Troy", "Paris 1919" and "Slow Dazzle/Guts" are all good.
Fear, Helen and Slow Dazzle were compiled on a cd "The Island Years which i recommend which includes some non-lp b-sides (Bamboo Floor) which is a great song.
If you can find "Sabotage:Live" its a great post-punk sonic assault.
