with the recent rock n roll hall of fame inductions i was wondering what persons or groups would you include in the first class of the new wave hall of fame? i was thinking along the lines of early pioneer award, an award for artist with biggest influence on new wave, and say the first three groups or persons you would induct. any ideas?

Wow. The very first NW Hall of Fame class. Hmmm. I would say the Velvet Underground would be honored for the biggest influence. The other first three honored would be:

Kraftwerk
Jonathan Richman
The Sex Pistols

as for influence...Malcolm McLaren shaped the London music scene in the early/mid 70s

I would go with David Bowie for early pioneer.
Biggest influence...I don't know about that - my heart belongs to Blondie, so personal bias makes me vote for them.
