I know that most people here have heard Electric Light Orchestra, but one of my fave albums by them was Balance Of Power, the album that came out in '86 and was their last album.
Down to a trio of Jeff Lynne, Richard Tandy and Bev Bevan, they were no longer an orchestra and relied on keyboards for most of the album. Sure, since the album Twilight, they'd relied more and more on keyboards but this album was really dominated by them. It was a mixture between ELO and synthpop with a bit of power pop thrown in for good measure.
If you haven't heard anything from this album, here is a track called 'So Serious' that I believe should have been a huge hit.
