Does anyone have anything to share from this band ?

I have crappy rips of Physical Speed and Song of The Kite, but the quality is weak. One of them has a skip and you can hear the vinyl scratching all the way through. I've tried several different sharing vehicles and these seem to be the only copies out there in cyberspace. I don't think anybody who wasn't living here in the Boston area in the late seventies/early eighties even knows who these guys are what tremendous songs these were. I hope somebody here does have good copies of these songs. I'd upgrade first thing.

I can remember seeing this band years ago in Boston. Also , I found their self titled cassette in my collection that I almost forgot I had. The cassette came out in 1980 .The band was Paul Van Ness :guitar , Adam Sherman :vocals ,Patty Van Ness :violin ,Scott Woodman :drums , Steve Keith :bass . Yeah, listening to the songs "Physical Speed" and "Song of a Kite" again makes me think that this band should of been a bigger hit.

A couple weeks ago, some friends and I visited Provincetown MA and we saw a street musician playing out front of Forbidden Fruit on Commercial Street. He gave him a tip and he gave us a CD of his solo stuff. Turns out he was Private Lightning vocalist Adam Sherman. He's got a website (www.adsherman.com) and he promptly wrote us back when we dropped him a line. Maybe he knows how to get ahold of PL stuff?

What an awesome band. My only regret is that I never got to see them live. Was a bit too young, they were a bit too damaged goods by the time I got to Boston. When people ask me to describe them, I tell them, "Think Quarterflash with Rindy Ross as a violinist."

If anybody drops Adam or Steve a line, see what you can do about getting their unreleased stuff out to a wider audience -- more specifically, to me. There were a whole bunch of people who were tight with them who were posting about those tracks on the www.onamrecords.com discussion forum, and I was insanely jealous.
