Sixteen candles soundtrack question??

There was a really good song that wasnt credited on the credits.The song is the first song to play a the dance scene when she first enters the dance.The band sounds kinda like Madness.Sounds like there saying Eilene but i cant tell.Anybody know??

Check this out from this John Hughes web site...
Mystery Solved! The song that is playing in Sixteen Candles when the girls enter the gym for the school dance was a piece composed by Ira Newborn since, for legal reasons, they were not able to use "Our House" by Madness. Ira used the word "Filene," which was the nickname of his girlfriend at the time
They also have some cool clips from some of the movie music from Ira Newborn there...
