Remix Services...Ultimix, Hot Tracks, Select Mix

All of these remix services have had some very nice remixes and megamixes of 80's tunes. Is anyone interested in sharing 80's or even more recent tunes remixed from any professional remix services? [?]

There are some great remix services out there.

Hot Tracks has been around forever & are probably one of the absolute best. I don't always find them good for listening, as they sometimes have extended mix in/out parts. I can't really complain, after all, they are made for DJs. I do like that they usually cut the boring parts out of the songs & add a good bridge or repeat verses instead of endless percussive passages. They have put out some very nice boxed-sets of their older mixes. I believe most of the new wave stuff can be found under their "Hot Tracks On the Edge" or "RoadKill" labels.

I like Ultimix mostly when they stay true to the original. I'm not such a fan when they add modern rhythm tracks or effects (i.e., their awful remix of Gary Numan's Cars.) The great thing about Ultimix is that they take songs that were in desperate need of an extended version & well.....extend them.

A couple others to check out - of course Razormaid. I find them very similar to Hot Tracks in remixing style, but about 90% are new wave, goth, alternative & italo songs.

Disconet - I think they're probably the most listenable of all the remix services. They have some great 80's remixes, as well as several yearly medleys, along with the usual big hit remixes.

Discotech is harder to find, I'm not sure if they did a whole lot of mixes - but the ones avaialble are pretty great. They have a great 10 minute remix of Don't You Want Me from Human League.

I don't know anything about "White Label" - whether it's a service, or something else, but there are thousands & thousands of unique remixes & mash-ups under that heading. I suspect they are simply bootleg mixes of songs. I've been out of the remixing loop for a long time & haven't followed who or what is hot.

For those interested, most P2P searches will bring up tons of tracks from each service.
