Does Anyone Remember this TV Show?

Postby MARV » Tue Oct 03, 2006 9:32 am

It was pretty short lived during the (mid?) nineties. It was a sitcom ala Absolutely Fabulous which chronicled the (mis)adventures of two young women sprinkled with flashbacks of them in the eighties replete with fashion and music of the day.

What was that show called again?

Probably "Cybill" (if Cybill Shepherd and Christine Baranski can be considered young) or "Fired Up." "High Society" had the same theme, but I don't remember any flashbacks.

How about "Lush Life" was on Fox back in 96-97. It's star was Lori Petty.

I still don't remember any flashbacks!

That it for sure? I've got a few of them on tape somewhere, but I don't think I've watched it since it went off the air. (Never mind what tapes they're on.) You might want to keep checking the In2TV website at http://television.aol.com/in2tv/ "High Society" was a Warner Bros. show, and they've been putting an awful lot of stuff up there for free -- including some truly horrible short-lived shows whose master tapes should be burned.

Damn.....the In2TV website does'nt seem to be Mac OS friendly. Says it requires WIndows XP in order to watch video.

Maybe I just remember the one episode (if there were'nt anymore) where they did do a flashback to the eighties. The show's been compared to the BBC's Absolutely Fabulous over and over and their usage of the flashback as comedic device has been met with great success. I guess I remember this flashback so much because it took place in the eighties [:o)]

SS, you MUST find those tapes you made of High Society!
