I'm sure that others have posted about this band before, but I really think y'all should check them out if you dig Mari Wilson's stuff...or even Tracey Ullman's pop records!

The band is called THE PIPETTES and they are a new female trio from the UK. They've released one album and a few singles and are worth your time. If you can't find their CD, you can download the album at iTunes.

Here are some youtube.com links to their vids:

Cool! Thanks, Spaz. I'll surely check them out.

How nice that I was listening to an online radio station just yesterday and caught "Just What I Always Wanted" being played... and now you started a thread about the band![8D]

Anyway, Happy Holidays to you! You should post as often as you can! We need respectable music gurus like you around here.

Nice to see you keep up with the cutting edge of music spaz (still waiting for you to reply to my email).

It's a nice enough sound which I like but they haven't much troubled the chart compilers. They lack the presence of Mari Wilson and unless they're willing to go down the jazz club route like Mari I can't see them having a big future ahead of them.

Mari Wilson is like no other, she had the girl group sound of the 60's in the 80's the only other one who came close was Tracy Ullman
