Baby Come Back

Back in about 1981-1982 a friend lent me a tape(which I unfortunately gave back) that had a version of this same song by The Equals. He taped it from the University of Pennsylvania radio station. It definitely was not The Equals, Eddy Grant, UB40, or Pato Banton. The voice was male and if I remember correctly there was a lot of reverb in the guitar. I had always assumed it was a two-tone band but have been unable to find this song in any catalog of the usual suspects (The Specials, The Selector, Bad Manners, etc). I never was able to find out who it was on the tape. Hopefully someone here can help.
