BRYAN ADAMS first 2 albums......

i was just curious on how you felt about bryan adams first 2 albums,if you considered them new wave/power pop or just AOR.
bryan adams debut album,"BRYAN ADAMS" from 1980 contained the 2 disco/club hits,,,"HIDING FROM LOVE" & "REMEMBER".
both songs got spinned in local discos as well as new wave clubs in the central florida area.
bryan adams 2nd album,"YOU WANT IT YOU GOT IT" from 1981,also contained the songs,"lonely nights" & "one good reason" which again also got played in our local new wave clubs & stations.
i also remember that with those 2 albums,that when you walked into the local,"peaches" or "music city" record stores,both albums were filed under new wave.
bryan also wasnt well known here in the states from the first 2 albums too,and i remember seeing him open for groups like,,,THE KINKS,MISSING PERSONS,THE ROMANTICS & THE PRODUCERS in orlando,fla.
from adams 3rd album and on,just your typical AOR rock........

Adams' first two albums were golden, and spawned several minor hits in Canada. One such being 'Hiding From Love' became a bigger hit for the British group Rosetta Stone, just missing the Canadian Top 40 in 1982

I was about to comment on the disco thing, but as I read further down I noticed that Wolv beat me to it. Bryan Adams has nothing to do with disco apart from Let Me Take You Dancing being mixed and vocally altered. The LP from which the original version of LMTYD comes is NOT a disco infused LP at all.

And although Bryan Adams is by no reach of the imagination a New Wave act, it's obvious by this thread that he will still garner discussion. I wonder if a mention of EBN-OZN on a Journey chat board would receive the same attention? I once made the unbeknownst mistake of mentioning John Mellencamp here and was pounced on like a burger in a kennel. But I survived, buns intact.

His style has changed but it was never new wave. If you want to categorize his music, it is AOR. Case closed.
