Joy Division's "Atmosphere"

Postby Ollie Stench » Mon Mar 28, 2005 4:01 am

What a beautiful song! I spent a few hours this weekend pulling out vinyl I hadn't listened to in ages, this single being one of them. I like the entire JD catalog, but this tops everything by a long shot!

Here's a video from 1988 for the song

Ollie, dude, absolutely! Can you imagine when people first heard Lich Und Blinheit/Sordide Sentimental with Atmosphere on one side and Dead Souls on the other?! It must have been stunning to hear the likes of stuff that had never been heard before. I wish

Ollie,

Well-timed subject.......I've only recently (last 3-4 months) opened my ears to Joy Division. I'm playing them all then time lately. Can't get enough. Just d/l'd a bunch of songs from the hub.

I remember that video, too. It used to scare me..

Dead Souls just popped up on my iTunes shuffle as I sit here. What a fan-fucking-tastic song!
