that the Dude hated the Eagles? To me anyways he seemed like the type of person that would enjoy a good Eagles song, not the type that would have such a hatred for them he would so offend a big cab driver enough to get tossed. It just seemed odd, maybe that was the intention though.

I like the Eagles, not their entire library of work per se. My favorites that come to mind are "James Dean", "In The City","The Long Run" and "Victim of Love".

I never cared much for Desperado which I think was the song the cab driver was playing. It wasn't just the song he didn't like, he clearly stated "Man, I hate the Fucking Eagles".

He liked Creedence though, we know that. Ah well, just something that was eating away at me today as I droned on at work. Stupid work!![:(!]

The dude? The walking dude from The Stand?

Eagles...I think the whole early 70's California scene is pretty interesting. I don't care much for the music as a whole - but some of it was pretty good. It's funny to hear some of Linda Ronstadts really early stuff & realize her backing band was some form of the Eagles.

When I worked as a DJ for a country station I would pray for an Eagles song to come up on the playlist - just to get away from the usual crap we played.

I get in an occasional Eagles mood, usually the mellower stuff. I think mostly because of remembrances like those Tequila Sunrises in Baja with buddies. They seem to have a knack for bringing up both fond and bittersweet memories in people. Top five off the top of my head...

I thought we were talking about the Dude from The Big Lebowski. But it's been so long since I've seen it, I can't remember any whether there are any references to The Eagles in TBL.

Put me down for liking some Eagles music. "Take it to the limit", "Victim of love" and "The last Resort" are a few of my favorites.

I agree Edison and Hex.
I Can't Tell You Why I like the Eagles, but I do, esp. Joe Walsh.

Hotel California, may be a good song on it's own merits, but as one of the most overplayed songs of all time I gotta give it a miss. How many times in a single lifetime can you listen to the same song?

The Eagles was my first concert I went to in Oct. '79 for The Long Run tour -- I think the ticket was $12.

I like some of their songs -- Peaceful Easy Feeling, Already Gone and a few others (and of course they were played to death on the radio) but I don't have any Eagles in my iTunes.

Jon Stewart had a great joke on The Daily Show last year, or maybe 2 years ago (I tried to Google it, with no luck), Where someone made a comment about The Devil and Eagles music and in a sarcastic voice, he was acting as if the Devil was speaking and said something like: "Really? The Eagles, do I suck that bad."

I like The Eagles... it's one of the bands that I grew up listening to on the radio.
