Favorite band image

I miss the colorful "costumes" of new wave artists. It was fun to see bands such as Adam & the Ants, Haysi Fantayzee, Culture Club, JoBoxers, ABC, etc. dress up in something besides jeans & T-shirts. I guess with the possible exception of Devo and the B-52's, the whole thing never really took off with American acts.

Anyhow, I especially liked Dexys Midnightt Runners downtrodden/hobo look. I am sure it took them a long time to look as if it only took them a few minutes to get dressed.

Anyone else have a favorite look from that era?

Honestly I think it takes a away a bit of credibility when artists rely on a gimmick or costume (IMHO). Don't confuse this observation with those bands who have members who share the same fashion sense.

Think about it, forcing the band members to ha
