Local team haters

Postby randy » Tue Jun 12, 2007 9:28 pm

We all know them, as a matter of fact, some of us probably ARE them. You know the asswipes that say they HATE the local teams just to be asswipes and give THEMSELVES attention. Dont ya feel sad for these folks? And Im not talkin transplants such as Blirwin that still have allegience to his California teams, but folks born in a state and still hating the local teams. What brings this up is my daughter boyfriend--( New England here for you few that may not know )--hates the Red Sox and Patriots--loves the Yankees and Colts. Note the teams the local haters always love--the rivals that are always good teams. If he were around 30 years ago, he would be lovin the Dolphins, not the Colts. These local team haters only root for the successful teams--thus showing any lack of integrity--just stupidity. And I'm sure this goes for any area you talk about.

Remember all those Chicago Bulls fans years back? Where are they now?

ok--Im thinking its a self esteem issue. So I get noticed, I will claim to love a team the locals hate. I'm still waiting for a local New Englander that claims to hate the Pats say "Man, I love the Houstan Texans!!!" Hell--all the Dolphins fans of 20 years ago are now Colts fans--tells you something. Thought of it again as I spied upon my daughters semi-boyfriends my space page. His backdrop used to be--Yankees--then Colts--now OJ Simpson. Low self esteem--thats the answer!!

NHL:
I'm a Montreal Canadiens fan, and I don't support the local teams (in Vancouver now, but didn't support the Flames when I was in Calgary). I want(ed) both teams to lose, but only because everybody talks about them all the time.

Basically, I dislike the local NHL team like how people dislike pop songs that get overplayed. Now that I'm not in Calgary, I think the Flames are okay [:)].

Yeah, I know--have not shot him yet. Kinda liking watching him suffer as one by one "his teams"--Yankees--Colts--Go down in flames.
