Whenever I'd see some footage of either ELO or the Patti Smith Group, I'd always have this feeling that I'd seen one of these guys somewhere. Um, somewhere other than another video of the respective groups. Maybe for that subliminal reason, I'd always found both Bev Bevan and Ivan Kral oddly compelling in these vids. It only dawned on me this morning that it's probably because they look so freaking much alike...at least to my eyes. What do you think? Does ELO's drummer Bev Bevan (on the right)..

...look anything like PSG guitarist Ivan Kral? (middle)

The resemblance seems even more striking in moving videos than stills.
PS. I recently found out (through my information repository of the early NYC music scene, Schwenko [:p] ) that Ivan was the original guitarist for Blondie back in 1974 when they were transitioning from the name Angel and the Snake to Blondie. He then went to PSG when Patti impressed the hell out of him, then on to work with Iggy Pop, composing "Bang Bang". Not sure exactly where in there was his stint with John Cale and composing "Even Cowgirls Get the Blues" was. Damned interesting character.
