Against Me! - New Wave

I must be a sucker for bands with an ! in their name, and the coolness factor of titling their new release New Wave makes this release instantly likable.
On their previous effort, Searching For A Former Clarity, they neared perfection. This band reminds me of what minutemen would have sounded like after they matured had d.boon not died[:(]

This record is no departure really, the acoustic guitars are put away as Butch Vig produces, more commercial than their previous CD (a little), same political punk that is in your face without being in your face, if that makes sense. Using the word punk is probably not right as it may turn some off, the title track and White People For Peace are my favorites and I'll be damned if Stop! doesn't approach dance music (!)

I really like the record, two complaints though, only 10 songs and 33.5 minutes doesn't cut it for a Major Label debut and of course, it's mixed too loud - ugh!
