Thermal paper receipts!

Postby Panorama » Thu Dec 06, 2007 8:45 am

I hate these thermal paper receipts -- I want plain paper receipts -- is that too much to ask for? I saw some news report that said you better Xerox or scan all your receipts because they fade -- I know they fade.

Also, I had to get a new cell phone, and Motorola will not allow me to transfer the ringtones to my new phone -- these are small .mid files (4KB, 7KB) -- I know they exist on some Motorola server somewhere... and some senior VP made the executive decision not to allow their customers to transfer the ringtones... so the ringtones I've been using for several years die with the phone.

What year is this??? It's almost 2008 -- I can't believe I'm even talking or writing about these two things as an issue. It's stupid, ludicrous, ridiculous, preposterous... you get the idea.

Not only that, but these friggin' receipts are the length of a football field nowadays ! (already mentioned by someone on the Pet Peeves thread). Kills me. it seems to me that the Longley McLongerson receipts started up when they went thermal. You're right...they do fade.

I hate thermal receipts. They belong on the pet peeves list.

Mr. Shovelbum works for CVS. They have the longest receipts I've ever seen! Every time they hand me one I have to bite my tongue not to ask how many trees were sacrificed in the making of it.

In college, I once turned in a book report on thermal paper. I kid you not. It was referred to as greasy. It wasn't even a 8.5 x 11 sheet. It naturally rolled up, being from a roll.

The year? 1994!
