NWO MixCD exchange RESULTS, PART 2

Postby Otters Walk Among Us » Mon Apr 04, 2005 10:53 am

I thought the other thread was etting a bit cumbersome to weed through, as the trades have been going on for several months and many new folks have joined. So I propose the following:

Everyone still interested in trading CDs should check in here with a list of CDs they have to offer in trade. That way, everyone will know what's available and who's offering. Also, feel free to list the CDs you've received, if only to amaze yourself with the total bounty.

I've received:
No Rhyme, No Reason Volumes 1-3
Sweet and Sour
Club Noir
Canadiana
Aussies and Kiwis
Scramjet Songs October 2004
Not Necessarily New Wave Christmas Volumes 1-2
Afterglow
Marie 3 11/5/04
Godfathers Of Club
New Wave Godfathers Volumes 1-2
Egg-roger I
New Wave For Now People
Country Darkness
Buffalochipz NASA Sticker

I have available to send:

Sing Otters Sing!!!: a collection of tunes that I like to play loud in the car and sing along to, badly

53 Smash Indie Hits!: 53 short fast jangly indiepop tunes, think groups like The Wedding Present, Dentists, Lucksmiths, etc.

Sunshine Pop!: songs for a happy, sunny day

and
Otters Walk Among Us presents 1981, 1983, 1985, and 1992: I've only sent out 1985 so far, to rave reviews from all recipients :) I've just finished the other years, and I'll work on more as time passes.

I can be reached at matt at plainmabel dot com. And I look forward to receiving more excellent mixes.

Randy,
Send me your address again, I must have accidentally deleted it. I'll also send you an all new mix I am working on that you should enjoy, in exchange for a Rhyme/Reason vol 3. (I have 1 and 2 from you already, and they are excellent)

Thanks again

To XTC-1957, Randy, Medication 881, Egg-Roger, Manekineko:

I have listened to your discs (except Randy's-I still have two to listen to) and they are superb. There are many unknown gems and familiar favorites on each! Thanks for the trades! Maybe we can do some more soon?

I am glad you like my CD kimiiii....it reminds me of KYYX's heyday. Most of the older stuff on there I heard for the first time on there. I thought it would make you dance![8D]

Devildog my friend...
....you sent me two cds and they are both the same.[:(] The one labelled Against The Grain was not Against The Grain. It was a duplicate of the very excellent other un-named cd. Really enjoyed Legendary Pink Dots , I Start Counting and Bazooka Joe-all new to me.

Medication--I'll get it out to you. Have to say I was very impressed with the Wolfeman mix--mostly new stuff to me and highly enjoyable. This is the second or third Stills tune Ive gotten from the exchanges and I love them all. I need to seek out there stuff.

Waukena--Ditto on your cd--really enjoyed it--even sort of liked the Run DMC tune. Soviet Snow was another great new tune to me.

Nyuk Nyuk Nyuk--Egg Roger--looking forward to Moe and your other friends!!!! They are next on the player.

If you would like any of these CDs full of high-quality crap, let me know......

--Chipz Mix Volumes I through VI (totally random mixes with no thematic unity whatsoever, Volume VII coming soon)
--Aussies & Kiwis (songs from Down Under and New Zealand)
--Canadiana (songs from the Great White North, eh)
--Popgasm (power pop and/or highly melodic stuff)
--Radiosongs (songs about radio, guaranteed not to include R.E.M or Wall of Voodoo)

When these trades first started out I foolishly thought I'd send a unique mix to any member who wanted to swap. This was fun but quickly turned into a pain in the arse. So I got a set of songs together and named it Chipz Mix I (the one that starts out with a radio programming anouncement.) Almost everyone got a version of this CD give or take a few tracks.

Hey Randy, I was just testing you to see if you would notice.[:D] Sorry-looks like an editing error on my part. No sweat, I'll send you the correct disc. You were supposed to receive volumes 1 and 2 of "Against The Grain". Sounds like you got two copies of volume 2. I wonder if someone else got two of volume 1???[:0] I'll ship it Monday.
