On a local radio talk show today, a local politician was complaining about a proposed hand gun ban as a poor way to address black on black crime. At one point he said, "I believe in calling a spade, a spade". The host went silent for what seemed an eternity.

Yeah, yeah, I know he shouldn't have said it, but like "niggardly," it has nothing to do with race.
